AQUACLEW - Advancing Quality of Climate services for European Water

Project duration: 10/2017 to 09/2020

The goal of AQUACLEW is to advance the quality and usability of several climate services for water related sectors jointly with users. More specifically the project aims to improve climate services co-development along the entire climate service production chain and to tailor data, quality asssurance and guidance to better meet user requirements. This will be done in close cooperation with local stakeholders in seven European case studies.

The IRPUD sub-project aims to a) identify and assess the user needs of German climate services users in the water sector, b) assist the integration of AQUACLEW indicators into existing German climate services, c) coordinate the European case studies and conduct the German case study. The case studies will experiment and evaluate how AQUACLEW climate services can improve and accelerate water related decision-making processes. The focus of the German case study is urban flash floods in the city of Hagen.
